Our story begins in 1921, when Overhead Door™ Corporation’s founder, C.G. Johnson, invented the upward-lifting garage door. In 1926, he followed this with the electric garage door opener. For over 100 years, the Overhead Door™ brand has stood for product quality, expertise, and professional service.

With our nationwide network of more than 450 authorized Ribbon Distributors, we are a leading provider of overhead and garage door systems. Overhead Door Company of Sioux Falls™ was founded by Don and Bonnie McCleery in 1967. To meet our customers’ needs, we expanded to Watertown, SD, in 1988, and our Aberdeen, SD, location was added in 1998.
Don and Bonnie founded a tradition of hard work and dedication that has been passed along from one generation to the next. We’ve also remained locally owned and operated. Jo Turgeon, Don and Bonnie’s daughter, is the present owner.
